AkzoNobel Award 8

A series of 5 annual awards were commissioned from National Glass Centre Studio by Dulux, part of AxonNobel. They are produced from a solid cast glass block, filled with assorted colours representing different paints. The subdivision into three components represents first, second & third awards whilst retaining the concept of corporate unity.

Manufactured using 48% lead crystal Gaffer Glass from New Zealand & mounted on Cumberland grey-green slate by Burlington Stone.

The award was designed by Chris Blade MA (RCA), Manager of the National Glass Centre Studio, Sunderland. The work was modelled & cast by Katya Filmus an Israeli glass artist chosen by the Glass Centre for her expertise in this field. It was produced at the National Glass Centre.
