Ford Aerospace celebrated its Centenary in 2010 and as part of the recognition of this achievement Chairman, Geoff Ford MBE, approached the National Glass Centre, Sunderland to assist with the development of glass components for an collaboratively produced Award.

The following pictures illustrate the casting of the glass at 1160 degrees centigrade into a cast iron mould manufactured by the company. Geoff Ford is seen assisting the National Glass Centre craftsmen shearing the liquid glass into the moulds.
